Keystone vs. Brookside tonight

I will be covering high school football tonight at Brookside High School as the Cardinals host the Keystone Wildcats. You can tune in to 1320 AM or listen online (replay will be available online as well). I'll be working with play-by-play announcer Bob Karlovec and sideline reporter Darrin Goats.

The annual rivalry continues as these two teams have faced each other every season for several years currently as PAC Stars division rivals and before that Lorain County Conference rivals. Keystone has won six in a row dating back to 2005.

Both teams are in transition. Keystone suffered heavy losses due to graduation from a year ago. Brookside is on their third coach in the last three months. Both teams are starting a running back as their quarterback.

Clearview vs. Vermilion tonight

I will be covering high school football tonight at Vermilion High School as the Sailors host the Clearview Clippers. You can tune in to 1320 AM or listen online (replay will be available online as well). I'll be working with play-by-play announcer Bob Karlovec and sideline reporter Darrin Goats.

Both schools are reeling as Clearview lost 45-6 at Elyria Catholic while Vermilion lost 44-0 against Huron.

The two teams have in week 2 for the last six years. Vermilion won three games from 2005-2007 while Clearview has won the last three meetings from 2008-2010.

For Clearview, the team gets back to practice trying to eliminate mistakes that lead to big plays. All six Elyria Catholic touchdowns were longer than 30 yards.

For Vermilion, this is the first year for new head coach Ben Ohlemacher. The coach wants to instill a discipline, hard-nosed, tough attitude to the program - note: wants to build a football program and not just a team.

Both teams will have a big games in week 3. Clearview will host Amherst, a meeting for the first time in two decades. Vermilion will travel to Firelands, their arch rival.
